Third Eigh8all [Video/Action Goldenrod]

Oh hey, is this thing working? Oh Good.

[The camera comes on to Vriska's face for a second before turning to the road in front of her.]

So I got myself a couple more of these Pokémon since I last posted on here when I got Marquise.

[Grabbing a Pokéball she lets out the creature inside. A Magikarp flops on the ground.]

This is Camer-- Tavros you stupid fish! How did you get in front of Cameron's Pokéball!? Is this your way of wanting attention? Well ha! I'm not giving it to you. See how you like that. [Tavros, the Magikarp, continues to flop around.]

Ignore him, that's just Tavros. He's kiiiiiiiinda useless, just like his namesake. Hahahahahahahaha!

Anyway. [A moment later a small Buneary appears and hops right on over to Tavros. He tries to calm the fish down a bit.]

This is Cameron, Cameron Poe. He's going to be the most badass, rugged hoppy creature anyone's ever seen. He was also a present from John. Oh and Rose too I guess.

If anyone wants to challenge my team of awesomey awesome I'm in Goldenrod. I'll be happy to take anyone one.

[She turns the camera back on herself, grinning. Feel free to come challenge Vriska. None of her Pokemon are over level 25, and she's got an ego about the size of Johto itself. Be careful though, she's also prone to cheating.]

Oh trust me, I'm not worried about offending your delicate human sensibilities. But you're welcome all the same.

[And she returns the smirk with one just as devious]

How thoughtful. I thank you. And I believe I would be up for trying. I merely have one question for you first, Vriska.

What question would that be, hmmmmmmmm?

Would you be offended by my taking advantages available to me, or would you prefer I keep it as fair as possible?

Pfffffffft. Take aaaaaaaall the advantages you want. Fair is for wimps.

[You just better be prepared, she doesn't fight fair.]

[[It's okay. She doesn't fight fair when the situation calls for it.]]

[Oh she can't wait for this.]

[[From there she nods and shuts the feed off. It's a little bit before she shows up, as she had to pick which Pokemon to use, but pretty soon she arrives. Her Espeon in tow, her Noctowl on her head as usual, and a Nartac around her shoulders. From the looks of it, these are the only three she brought.]]

Mind if we have a little conversation while we battle?

[She frowns slightly, a lot less pleased to see her in person. She's not as sure as she was earlier that she can thrash her, not the way her Pokémon are looking, and in all other matters she'd rather avoid Rose entirely.

Especially Rose and conversations. But here she was, and she had an idea that if she said no Rose might talk at her anyway.]

Whatever. Let's just do this.

[She wasn't sure if she meant the battle or the conversation.]

[[With a nod, she sends in Nartac first, her lowest leveled at 43. The little Glameow is just kind of...shaking. He wants to go back on his mother's shoulders, not out in the open and having to face new Pokemon and oh god oh god. But. It's a battle. He knows that music. So he must steel his nerves!]]

It's about John.

[[Nope, she's not going to beat around any bushes.]]

[Of course it is. She scowls.]

What about him?

[Great, was Rose going to get on her case for confessing to her boyfriend? Just what she needed.

She turns to look at the Buneary hopping impatiently at her side.]

Get to it Cameron. [He hops out happily and punches at the air.]

[[The cat Pokemon, meanwhile, eyes him warily. Can't they just be friends?]]

You wish to be moirails with him, right?

[[Eying the Buneary carefully, she tries to decide what move best to use.]]

Nartac, if you'd please. Try and strike him with Hypnosis.

That's right. Problem?

[Cameron will be friends too, but that sounded like a battle command, and he does enjoy these battles. What's it gonna be Nartac?]

[[Well, he's not one to ignore his mother's commands, so he's certainly going to...hesitate a moment, and then dash forward. Throw them off, make them think something else is coming right? That's what Prick said! And then stop about halfway between them to use the requested move which, if it hits, will put the poor Buneary to sleep.]]

A little. Though I have a feeling it isn't what you're expecting. Actually, I'm here to give you advice on that.

[It does indeed hit the poor bunny, and he falls right asleep. Vriska doesn't actually bother to do anything about it. There are more important matters here. She can crush Rose another time perhaps.]

You are here to give me advice on quadrants? That's a laugh.

It shouldn't be, given I've been in a moirallegiance before. But no, not so much on the quadrant itself than the way you need to handle approaching it with John.

[[Really, she hadn't planned on much of a battle anyway. That would be the point of putting it to sleep so early on.]]

Because he has a difficult time understanding them, and if you move to fast you'll likely chase him away.

Really, you were in a Moirallegiance?

[She looks doubtful, but unsure, then even more so at the idea of frightening John away. That's the last thing she wants. So even if she hates the idea, she might as well listen to what Rose has to say. Loathe to admit it, she knows John better than Vriska.]

Okaaaaaaaay.

I was, yes. Though he doesn't remember it now due to Johto and time bullshit, so it's a bit of a non-issue. But again, John is the focus of this conversation.

[[Letting the cat curl around her foot, she took a breath as she tried to figure out how to handle this.]]

See...Karkat explained it minimally to him before, and he didn't get how it was a relationship then. I've tried explaining it to him a few times now, and while he understands it far better now, he still...seems not to fully grasp it.

So my first piece of advice is to have as much patience with him as you can muster. Be willing to sort of help him figure out that what he's doing is right. Especially since Moirallegiance mirrors close friendship to humans so much, and therefor he would probably easily confuse the two. That just might make him feel as though he's being inadequate and only being a friend rather than a Moirail.

He also has a few concerns I thought I'd make you aware of, so you might know how to handle them should they come up in your conversation with him. His biggest dealing with timelines.

[Vriska, patient, right. Well, she'll have to try.]

What kind of concerns? [Timeline is her biggest issue too. She's been more aware of that lately than ever.]

He's...worried about the differences between him and the John you know. That while he might be moirail material in the future, what if he isn't now? I explained to him that nothing is stopping him from growing into that, and that likely you would know well enough if the difference is really significant or not, but he's still unsure. So, as I suggested to him, I'm going to suggest to you that perhaps the two of you should try and wait before becoming Moirails so soon, and spend a little more time together. That way you can discern if there are any differences, and he can decide if he's really up to holding such a relationship. He's worried he won't be adequate enough.

...which, sadly, is a worry of his with a lot of things I'm coming to find. But it simply needs time for him to adjust.

[She frowns] From what I can tell so far there aren't thaaaaaaaat many differences. Besides the memory thing.

He does worry about the little things a lot doesn't he? Can't seem to focus on the big picture. [She's had a bit of experience there, Rose, but in different circumstances.]

I had a feeling there probably weren't, but he will still likely need reassurance. He doesn't want to disappoint you, I have a feeling...hurt you more than he already has.

And no, he really can't. It's disheartening sometimes, but it's worth it to work it through with him in the end.

[She eyes her a bit, unsure what to say for the moment. Vriska's not good at these heart-to-heart things. It's usually the kind of thing she done with John.]

Okay. I get what you're saying and all. But why are you telling me this? I think you'd want me to stay faaaaaaaar away from him.

I know I would...

...because I know what Moirallegiance is. I know it's important for trolls, and after having been one myself realize that if you are requesting someone to be your Moirail, you probably have a reason for it. If John happens to be that person, I won't get in the way of it.

Plus, a Moirail is different than a girlfriend. In human relations, it's considered platonic. Meaning no...real worry placed on whether or not it would interfere with my relationship with him.

I also don't want to see John any more upset over this entire ordeal than he already is. And saying no to you would do that, because he doesn't want to upset you any further. So, I want him to give it a try. Or at least let the idea sit and give himself time to accustom to it without my personal feelings influencing that.

[[There's a small shrug accompanying that statement. She's not very good with the heart-to-heart things either, so she's just going to act as passive as possible here.]]

[She frowns slightly at that last statement.]

Meaning that personally you're against it, but your nice enough to let it go 'cause you don't want to upset him, by upsetting me?

[She'll take aggressive any day.]
