[Whenever you get back from whatever adventures you've had today, Vriska, you'll find a small package wrapped in blue lying on your pillow, along with an envelope. Inside the envelope, there is a letter which is a huge surprise to everyone because wow, really? A letter inside an envelope? Who would have guessed! Anyway, this letter is for you if the name written on the envelope is to be believed, and here's what it says:]
dear vriska,
i don't know if trolls celebrate anniversaries or not, but i felt like it wouldn't be right to ignore the fact that today is a very special day for us. can you believe that it has been a whole year since we became moirails? it seems like it was only a couple of days ago, maybe a week at most. time flies, doesn't it? especially when you're having fun.
granted, it hasn't been fun and games 100% of the time. there have been times where i really wish i had the ability to just magically poof away everything that makes you even the tiniest bit upset. but i think we both know the possibility of me spontaneously gaining this ability is pretty much impossible. maybe i should try and build a machine that will do it instead, huh? kidding. i think we deal with things pretty well as is. and you know what they say about things that aren't broken.
i want you to know that i am proud of you, vriska. a year really isn't as long as we think it is, and you have already come such a long way! to be honest? you have never needed me as your nagging conscience, reminding you to better yourself. you have pretty much done this all on your own and i've been tagging alongside you, more like a safety net than anything else. but don't worry, i'm not going anywhere. even if you are completely capable of flying netless at this point, and have been all along.
i know i was hesitant and unsure in the beginning, and that i've probably screwed up more than once over the past 365 days. but i am glad that... out of everybody? i am the one that you wanted by your side through anything and everything that comes your way. so thank you for giving me that chance. here's to another year, vriska. may it be even better than this past one.
don't forget, diamonds are a girl's best friend. :)

[On the bottom of the page there is a particularly crappy, yet hopefully endearing doodle. Inside the box there are three things: another (smaller) box which contains eight pink, handmade, diamond-shaped chocolates, another letter (folded up, no envelope this time), and a sturdy, knotted bracelet. Three beads have been woven into the band: two marbled blue spheres, and a small metal spider in the very center.]
[John may or may not have a matching bracelet. But they totally aren't friendship bracelets, okay?!? Because that would be super dorky.]
like i said, i am not really sure what the alternian anniversary customs are or if you even have any but i forgot to ask karkat last time i talked to him. but on earth, guys typically give girls chocolate and jewelry on their anniversaries. now don't even lie, i know you like chocolate as much as the next girl, but somehow sparkly, girly jewelry just didn't seem like it would be your thing. even though you are a fearsome pir8 and everyone knows that pirates like shiny things. so hopefully this is a more practical alternative to the earth custom. this bracelet also allows the wearer access to a super secret one-night-only vip movie screening!!!
in other words... i am downstairs in the living room, building a pillow fort, and popping some popcorn, if you care to join me.
