["Soon" roughly equates to around six hours or so, but sure enough, Eventually an Altaria drops down and lands in front of the Blackthorn Pokemon Center. John hops off, giving the dragon-bird a grateful pat on the beak before putting her back inside her ball and walking inside.]

[He's not sure if Vriska is inside but that seems like the most logical place to look first...]

[Vriska does happen to be inside, lounging on one of the sofa's, looking a mix between mopey and irritated. She'd gotten into an argument with one of the nurses a little while ago, and nearly gotten herself kicked out, until another nurse took pity on her and just told her to have a seat.

She's got a Pokéball in her hand that she's been idly playing with.]

[It doesn't take John long to spot her and he immediately beelines for the sofa in question. Once there, he sits down next to her and gives her a light nudge in the arm.]

You know, if you mope for too long, your face will get stuck like that forever.

[Instant frown, and straightening up. She was so not moping, jeeeeeeeeze.]

That's fucking stupid, faces don't get stuck. Besides, I wasn't moping.

[She glances down at the Pokéball though with a slight frown.]

[A small gasp.]

Whaaaat? You mean nobody told you about that?! Faces getting stuck is totally a human thing, Vriska.

[Please cheer up, Vriska. :<]

[Pause. Then slowly glancing up at him, as if doubtful.]

...It is?

[God humans are so weird.]

Yes, absolutely. It's because we're so squishy. [He tugs on his cheeks, as though to prove his point.] Our skin is all...malleable and stuff, so it gets stuck very easily.

[Vriska, you have good reason to be doubtful.]

If you say so....

[She still not sure she believes you.]

Would I lie to you?

[He puts a finger on each corner of Vriska's mouth and turns them upwards into a smile. As he does so, he gives her a critical, narrow-eyed look, as though judging the result of his actions.]

Hmmmmm... yeeeessss... Yes this is definitely a much better better expression for your face to get stuck in, I think. Beats Little Miss Frownyface anyday!

[She bats his hand away, but smiles on her own.]

You're such a dork. I'll bet that was a lie. Are you trying to trick me John? Huuuuuuuuh?

[He laughs, holding his hands out to the sides in a partial shrug.]

Okay, okay, you caught me! I was indeed pulling your leg and your face is not so squishy that it will get stuck. But for the record, you really should smile more.

[Her smile softens a little and she glances down with a shrug.]

I just need more reasons to smile I guess.

[He beams.]

Well if you end up staying with us for a while, I will try my best to give you a few. And I'm not pulling your leg with that one, cross my heart.

[Shrug] Well I've got nothing better to do really. Just training up to take on the elite challenge, and you said you'd help me with that anyway.

[She tosses the Pokéball and catches it again.]

Yup! I would still be more than happy to do that. And I promise not to be too boring or hold you back too much.
